Course Contents

Educational actions:

- Underwater archaeological excavation in the submerged coastal site (Methods and techniques) - study of the archaeological stratigraphy (underwater and the land)

- Excavation techniques in semi-submerged sites under the water table

- Study of the coastal sites (monitoring) -  Geological changes and the effect in the natural and human environment: coastal erosion, tectonic movements, elevated coastlines

Seminars in situ: 

Correlation of archaeological and geological studies for the comprehension of the geological changes from antiquity to today.

- Archaeological and geological chronostratigraphy

- Relative sea-level changes  in situ in submerged and elevated sites - ancient ports

- 3D photographical recording - studies from the students

- Topographical recording with Total Station

- Techniques in underwater photography
